Shivi Bhalla is an author, an ‘edupreneur’ and a mentor-in-the-making for students from around the world in Australia. He is young enough to remember his student days, and experienced enough to know how to help new students find their way in their new home. Shivi’s book ‘Studying in Australia – The ultimate guide to settling in, finding and job and Permanent Residency in Australia’ has just been launched with great reviews from students as well as education professionals. Shivi came to Australia as a young student in 2010. Driven by his focus and ambition, he finished his course and achieved Australian PR way before his peers. Most people would have celebrated this suc-cess and kicked up their heels for a while, but not Shivi. In his success, he didn’t see a reason to slow down. He spotted an opportunity to run faster and go further. Realising that thousands of overseas students struggle to master the English language, Shivi put his energies and savings towards giving them an easy, affordable solution. The result was English Wise – a coaching institute founded and managed by Shivi which offers expert coaching to overseas students, helping them clear the IELTS, PTE, TOEFL & OET to apply for permanent residency in Australia. “English Wise helps me stay connected with the younger generation: says Shivi, “having been a student myself not so long ago, I can understand their pressures and challenges.
Hardik migrated to Australia from India in 2008 as an international student. He commenced his education in marketing. As every international student, he looked for some part time/casual job to support his expenses. After doing some voluntary work in 2-3 different places, he was able to secure a casual position at Coles Express Service station. After a stint at Coles Express he moved to Woolworths as a produce assistant (Fruits and Vegetable department). This stint lasted more than he thought and was working while he was employed full time in his market executive role. In the last semester of uni during early 2012, he started looking for internships to build up his resume and volunteered at The Smith Family as a marketing assistant for 2 days a week for 3 months. In November 2012, Hardik was able to secure a role as a marketing executive in an advertising agency which targeted to multicultural audiences in Australia. Once the probation period of 6 months ended, Hardik finally drew the curtains on his part time position at Woolworths and focussed on his Marketing role until 2019. While working in his own field of expertise while on 485 graduate visa, Hardik was lucky enough to travel to over 20 countries which gave him a different perspective in life and started appreciating how good the life in Australia is. He applied for his 457 visa nomination in 2015 and 2 years later was granted Australian residency. Recently in March 2019 Hardik received a letter confirming Australian citizenship after a long and tireless hardwork.
